Athanasios Kipas was born in Greece, in the city of Larisa. Since 1965, he has lived in Germany with a 7-year break when he returned to his birthplace where he spent his childhood. Since 1979, he permanently resides in the state of Baden-Württemberg in Germany. He studied at the Institute of Industrial Interpreters and Translators of Stuttgart. He also studied European culture and European history at the Open University of Patras. He served for many years as a member of the Board of Directors of the Federation of Parents and Guardians Associations of the state of Baden-Württemberg, where he held the position of press representative. He is a founding member of the Confederation of Parents and Guardians Associations of Germany and its honorary president. He remains an active member in both Greek and German charitable organizations.
